Another Baby Sitter Accused of Sex With Boy, 14

An Idaho woman faces charges that she had sex with a 14-year-old boy that she was hired to watch in August 2007.

KXLY-TV reported Tuesday that 28-year-old Summer Nelson, of Post Falls, was charged Monday with four counts of lewd conduct with a child.
Court records say Nelson was a friend of the boy's mother.

Police say the abuse was reported in December 2008, after the boy's mother grew suspicious of Nelson's attention toward the boy.

14? Who has a babysitter at 14?

If the kid was genuinly hurt by the relationship, I understand the charges. Otherwise, I'd favor just telling her off. It isn't necessarily always the older partner that is manipulating the other...

Each case is unique, I can't pass judgment.

But, if I simply heard about this on the street, as teenage boy, I'd probably congratulate the kid.

Yeah, I'm thinking that at 14 - if one needs a baby sitter then something is wrong either with the parent or the child.

In this case it looks like the child is perfectly healthy and normal, so is the baby sitter for that matter.

I think it's the mom that needs some analysis.

This is a farce. First of all, a 14-year-old body doesn't need a babysitter unless he has some kind of disability. Secondly, what mother would hire a 28-year-old to take care of a 14-year-old?

I think all these mothers suing other women for having sex with their sons is just ridiculous. I wonder if the mothers aren't a bit jealous that some woman is providing something for their sons that they can't. Boys have been having sex with older women since the beginning of time. It does not take anything away from them. Indeed, it is a feather in their cap.

probably wouldnt have made the news if they had sex.

and you might need a sitter for a 14 year old if your going to be away for an extended time.

I cannot be a critic here: At 14, I would have had a tent raising chubby at the thought of hosting a baby sitter, and would have done my best to really get acquainted.

Well if the child had been 12 or younger then I would consider her a pedophile. However the child has to be 12 or younger not 14 or younger. So really nothing more than having sex with a minor (below 18).

It depends. The article isn't explicitly stating whether he is 14 now, or whether he was 14 at the time of the incident.

I'm inclined to believe that he was 14 at the time. If they could have printed that he was 12, they would have. A 12 year old having sex with a babysitter sells more papers than a 14 year old...
